- This guide was devloped out of the new regulations adopted October 5, 2011 which allows Certified Renovators to take paint chip samples and send them to a National Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (NLLAP) laboratory for analysis, rather than performing the lead testing themselves with an EPA-approved lead test kit.
